Carer Respite
Cedar Park Cottage
The Cottage provides respite for carers of older people and people suffering from dementia and challenging behaviour.
Respite care is usually available from Monday to Friday but in some emergency cases we can work in conjunction with Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre and provide weekend care. Respite can be booked for a week, a few days or overnight depending on the carer’s needs.

Clients do not have to be assessed for Nursing Home Approval to stay at the Cottage.
We provide experienced staff to cover 24 hour care, in a friendly, caring and homelike setting. The cottage is situated in a quiet street in Cedar Park, a suburb of Ravenshoe. It has 3 bedrooms, a wheelchair accessible bathroom, lounge, large kitchen/dining room and a veranda.
Home cooked meals are provided and cooked on the premises, with guest’s dietary needs and preferences catered for.
Outings and activities are arranged with the input of the clients. They may be taken out for a coffee or lunch, a drive, BBQ, or a social outing depending on what is happening in the community.
Transport can be arranged for pick up and return home from staying at the cottage.
What to bring?
We encourage the clients to bring some personal effects with them so they can have some familiar items around them, e.g. pillows, duvet cover, photographs.
The client staying at the cottage will have to have their medications in a Webster pack and their Doctor will need to sign a medication chart.
